Connecting a PostHog account

  1. Open PostHog Support and choose to connect an account.
  2. Complete sign-in directly with PostHog.
  3. Approve the requested access.
  4. Return to the app and choose the organisations and projects for your inbox.

If the app does not reopen, return to the browser and use the Open the app button on the callback page.

Why the app requests permissions

  • Basic account information identifies the connected PostHog account.
  • Organisation and project access shows the workspaces available to that account.
  • Ticket access lets you read and reply to support conversations.
  • Notification setup access lets you enable alerts for a selected project.

If an account was connected before a required permission was added, the app shows Reconnect to enable. Confirming that explanation opens PostHog sign-in so you can approve the updated access.

Notification troubleshooting

Push notifications require a physical iPhone or iPad. They do not work fully in the iOS Simulator.

  • Check that notifications are allowed for PostHog Support in iOS Settings.
  • Confirm that notifications show as enabled for the intended project in Inbox scope.
  • Use Test notifications to check that an alert reaches your device.
  • If setup fails, reconnect the account and approve the notification permission.

Disconnecting an account

Open Inbox scope, find the connected account and choose Deactivate. This disconnects the account and disables its notifications on that device.

Data deletion

Disabling notifications removes the device subscription for that project. When a project has no remaining device subscriptions, its notification record is removed.

Disconnecting an account removes its saved access from the app. To request deletion or clarification about other information associated with the service, email support@128bitstudios.co.uk.

Deleting the app does not delete data held in your own PostHog account. Manage that information through PostHog and your organisation's own retention policies.
