PostHog Support is operated by 128 Bits Ltd. This policy applies to the PostHog Support mobile app and the supporting website and notification service.
PostHog Support is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by PostHog.
Information the app handles
Connected account information
- The work email and limited device and app details submitted to select the appropriate sign-in route. These details are not retained for normal PostHog OAuth users.
- Your connected PostHog account email and profile identifiers.
- Account, organisation and project identifiers used to show and preserve your selected inbox scope.
- Sign-in authorisation information needed to keep your account connected.
Support conversations
The app retrieves support tickets and conversation messages from your connected PostHog account and sends replies you choose to submit. These conversations remain in your PostHog account and are not used for advertising.
Notification information
- The projects for which you enable notifications.
- Device delivery information and event content required to provide the alerts you request.
App improvement information
Limited app activity, device and app information, errors and crash details may be processed to understand reliability and improve the service. Connected account email may be used to determine feature availability.
Website support conversations
The support widget on this website processes the contact details and messages you choose to submit, together with limited browser and page context needed to maintain and respond to the conversation. Widget data is stored in PostHog and browser local storage; website analytics, automatic interaction capture and session recording are disabled.
How information is used
- Authenticate connected PostHog accounts and maintain sessions.
- Load the organisations, projects and support conversations you request.
- Send replies and perform other actions you explicitly initiate.
- Evaluate account-level feature availability.
- Configure, test and deliver project notifications you enable.
- Maintain, protect and troubleshoot the app.
- Receive and respond to support requests submitted through the website widget.
Information handled by the app is not sold and support conversation content is not used for third-party advertising.
Storage and retention
Connection information is retained only while needed to keep your account connected. Notification information is retained while devices remain subscribed to a project. Disabling the final device subscription removes the project's notification record.
Operational and app improvement information is retained only for as long as reasonably required to operate, protect and improve the service or meet legal obligations.
Your choices and controls
- Change your selected inbox organisations and projects in the app.
- Enable or disable notifications independently for each project.
- Revoke notification permission through iOS Settings.
- Disconnect a PostHog account from the app.
- Revoke connected application access from your PostHog account.
- Request access, correction or deletion of applicable service-side information by contacting us.
Deleting the mobile app removes its local data from that device but does not delete information stored in your PostHog account.
Children
PostHog Support is a business productivity tool and is not directed to children.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated as the app changes. The latest version and effective date will always be published on this page.
